3. listen to the stories about famous Americans and be ready to speak about them

4. be ready to explain the famous quotations

On the blackboard you see the quotations of famous people. Let’s read them and try to translate.

Установить правильность, полноту и осознанность выполнения домашнего задания всеми учащимися.

T: I see you know a lot of famous people and what they are famous for, what they discovered and what they were.

   But our country gave birth to many famous Belarusians whose names are known all over the world.

This year you’ve got acquainted with such prominent Belarusian artists as Mark Chagall, outstanding Belarusian physicist and philosopher Borys Kit.

You’ve read about notable Bel. Physicist and academic Zhores Alferov.

Your home task was to prepare short reports about outstanding Bel. People:

-          Bel. enlighteners

-          Famous writers and poets

-          Notable artists and composers

-          Prominent sportsmen and cosmonauts

1).Can you name Americans that are famous for their achievements in science and culture?

Now we are going to listen to the stories about famous Americans, that before to achieve success failed many times. And in spite of all their failures they managed to become successful and famous.

You see their names on the blackboard.

(Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, Stephen King, Walt Disney, Abraham Lincoln)

2). But first let’s read some words that can be unknown for you.
